HOW TO CANCEL DIAL UP INTERNET SERVICE

Before you cancel your internet service you should find a new internet access provider. If you don't have a new internet service in place before you cancel your current internet service, you may have a lapse in your internet connection. If you are switching to a DSL or Cable Internet connection it is extremely important to sign up for a new service before you cancel your current service. The reason for this is that a DSL or Cable Internet connection is not an instant activation. You must first wait for the self install kit to arrive or for your scheduled installation date before your internet connection is turned on. Normally your DSL or Cable Internet activation is scheduled between 3-7 days from the order. But it can take longer if you had to schedule an installation date. Once you have signed up for your new service and receive the activation date, you can then cancel your current internet service and you will have a smooth transition without a lapse in service.
